On January 4, the Philippine Daily Inquirer published an announcement of Angel’s disappearance (Thank you, Totoy). Three days later, January 7th, my former director and friend Ariel Ureta, flashed Angel’s pictures on his ABS-CBN Teleradyo Show appealing for help to locate her. The next day, Bernadette Sembrano and Tony Velasquez, also on their ABS-CBN Teleradyo show, followed up from where Direk Ariel left off (Thanks for the facilitation, Direk). More media friends would have been willing to help but sadly, on January 8th, Angel was slipped out of the country, clandestinely using Clark Airport as exit point.

Hello – your story was passed on to us and I can’t help but fight back tears on how you’re feeling. I’ve two grown up sons who are both in the Philippines while my husband and I are here in the US. Both boys get to travel here and we go home when we can, but I feel the loneliness of being away from them when I very well know where they are. Yet your story brought back the realities of the harshness of people around us, esp those whom we trusted.
we have a prayer group that gets together every first saturday of the month to do what we call 2000 Hail Mary prayers (parang pasyon, pero not too much singing). It’s praying the rosary beads 2000 times with all the rosary mysteries. While doing so, those who pray write in their special petition and these petitions are burned after the prayers — prayers start around 8:30 or 9 then ends of 3:30 with the Divine Mercy. I invite you to send in your petitions to me before the end of each month and I’ll make that they get included in our joint prayer. Maraming pagsubok ang buhay, let’s just not lose faith — because I do believe that God will always make things right, always in His time…. God, Mama Mary and prayers are the strongest hold we have always in times of darkness….

Hi Chelo,
Thank you for your sympathy. I’m offering you mine too, as I know how you feel being away from your two sons. I’m praying that all of you are alright and you continue to experience the bond of a family despite the distance. I know one day you’ll be together again but for now your love for each other is enough for you to feel that togetherness.
I am happy to know about your prayer group. Yes I will remind you sometime end of this month. For now, my prayer is for the mother to be enlightened. That she brings Angel back immediately for the sake of the welfare of Angel and Gabo and for the sake of justness and fairness to me who had cared for the children all their lives. I pray that she realizes that Angel will be in a far better family environment with me and Gabo, instead of her having to deal with a situation where the mother is with a husband other than her father.
Yes, God will always make things right and I will continuously plead for His help. Thank you for offering your prayer group to be a channel to Him.
